Disclaimer: The only Andromeda-related stuff I own are a bunch of trading cards. I’m fairly sure that doesn’t entitle me to make money of writing fanfic, so I won’t try.
Summary: Written for MikeJoe’s Indiana Jones challenge on the SSBBS http://www.slipstreambbs.com/ubb/Forum5/HTML/001085.html Short and rather silly. The Search for the ‘Essential Engineering Supplies…’

Beka leapt across the gap and landed with a solid thump on a crate at the far side. “Hurry up, Harper,” she called back, “We’re running short of time.”

“Uh uh, no way.” Harper stood at the edge of the gap and looked down. “Mama Harper’s baby boy did not live this long by taking dumb risks.”

“Harper get your ass over here, it’s not as if there monsters down there waiting to devour you if you fall in.”

“No? What about the rats? Those things are huge and not a big guy.”

Beka tapped her foot impatiently. “There are no rats down there.”

“Really?” Harper pulled a granobar out of his pocket, snapped it in half and threw the smaller half into the darkness.

Beka winced at the sounds of scuffling and a sharply broken off rodent scream. “Okay, maybe there are a few rats, but I’m doing this for you, the least you could do is help.”

“For me?” Harper sat down and munched on the last of the granobar, “Now let me think… who was it that bollixed the in-system drive by playing dodge with an asteroid swarm? Not me I think. And who was it that packed the cargo hold with crap in no discernible order? Again, not me. And who was it that left the items essential to the smooth running of the ship right at the back, where no one can get at them?”

“Harper, while you are sitting there arguing, we’re dead in space with a comet hurtling towards us.”

Harper swallowed the last of the bar. “You’d better get moving then.”

Gritting her teeth Beka ran lightly over the crates, dodging a tentacle that whipped out of the tank holding Supotco destined for the restaurants of the latest employer. As she leapt out of the way a box turned under her foot and she almost plummeted straight into the pile of large antique swords, but at the last moment caught a chain hanging from the pulley system.

Swinging on the chain she pushed herself across the cargo bay before dropping lightly onto a crate labelled ‘Essential Engineering Supplies - Touch these and die, property of S Harper’.

Beka sighed, popped the lid and pulled out a six-pack of Sparky cola. She grimaced. “Harper, you’d better get that drive back on-line in record time for this.”
