Alec is played by Jensen Ackles, who has also appeared in Supernatural and Devour.

To be honest, I didn't like Alec much at all, but he gradually became my favourite character, mainly because he's a prime example of character development, at least in my point of view.

Alec is the twin of Ben, one of the twelve X-5s who escaped from Manticore. Although being twins and sharing DNA, the two are clearly completely different to each other. Alec clearly likes women and alcohol.

There is a more sensitive side to Alec that isn't seen too often. By the last episode of the second season, he doesn't seem to be only caring for himself, and is very supportive of his friends. He's sympathetic in regards to Max and Joshua, and beats up three guys who killed one of his transgenic friends.

Despite being shot, Alec takes the gun off Normal, even though Normal assumes that he's an ordinary human. Aside from that, though, Alec seems to almost flaunt his differences, rather than hide them, especially in regards to fighting.
