ANOTHER HOMEMADE HYBRID
i bought a standard but rough kmx 125 for field/forest use.the bore and piston /rings were well worn, and rather expensive to replace so i decided to junk the engine and replace it with somthing easier to get parts for. i had prieviosly owned a ke125 scrambler (named CHRISTINE cos it tried killing me and my mates regularly ) and knew the were a tough little engine.one such mate had a ke 100 and a deal was struck for 80 punts.
the kmx exaust exits the engine from the side and the ke from the front so it was time to get the grinder out again . the frame was cut from the headstock down to the swingarm and a new section welded in.the engine was transplanted, a n exaust made up and bolted on ,an rm250 front end went on as did a tsr shock to jack up the back end.an rm tank was also fitted.it had fantastic clearance for gettin over tree stumps and ample power for the riding i was doin. its lying in a hedge at the moment and im pretty sure it would start with some fresh petrol and a few kicks .
