this is a pic that my 250 n looked like when i bought it

it was my first bike so i rode around quiet happily for a year or so, it was a great bike with very little maintainance needed to keep it on the road.the paint got a little scruffy so i decided to spray it, too much reading of easyriders and back street heroes convinced me to change the rear mudgaurd.then things got a little carried away .

this is a pic of the day it first seen a hacksaw, the mudgaurd was a trial and did`nt get bolted on . airbox was junked that day too.in favor of two empco highflow filters and an upjet

this is the same bike around 3 months later.i cut and welded the frame (a little short ),although it is hardtailed i kept the original swingarm . i lined it up and welded a piece of box section on top of where it joins the frame.i cut off the back end of the frame from the tankmount back and replaced it with two pieces of tubing that were lying around.the main frame beam had to be sliced down and plates welded in to allow the tank to fit . then i delugged the frame, sanded it down, moulded the welds with fillers, sanded it again and finaly sprayed it (first spray job). kickstart was fitted and the bike wired to run with no battery and a very simple loom.standard wheels ,front disc drilled, goodridge hosing,4 inch overs for forks made local one offs, same with risers.tank and bars were the only things bought in a shop.

built at age 20 with no prior knowledge.it may look a bit plain but with no acess to bike shops/workshops/etc and all mods/polishing/painting done on a pityfull budget .i thought it was the best bike in the world at the time and used to rant and rave about it all night long.the bike was`nt finished in theese pics ,a cissy bar/backlight/k+q seat and longer fork extensions were added after them .when it was was finished i was constantly on the road with no time for picture taking.that was something that happened with a lot of my bikes.

big or small, harley, brit ,euro ,or jap..........long live choppers
