Busnet is a senior's computer club, full designation; Busselton Seniors Computer Club.

We are a group of senior residents of the area in and around Busselton, in the south-west of Western Australia, who have a mutual interest in things to do with computers.

Most of us had little or no knowledge of using a computer until mid-1998, when a small group of us got together and decided to do something about that lack of knowledge.

We decided to form a club, encourage other senior citizens to join, and teach ourselves to use computers and understand Information Technology.
We formed the Busselton Seniors Computer Club, short name, Busnet.

Soon after formation of the club, we decided to establish our own web-site, with the idea of encouraging other senior citizens to become interested.
This web-site is a direct result of that decision.
It is also our hope that members of similar clubs around the world might contact us as a result, leading to exchange of information and ideas.

Sorry, but a Javascript-enabled browser is required to email me.

During planning and preparation for the site, other sites pertaining to seniors computer clubs have been looked at and we have not found any that actually say much about using  a computer. We are not saying they do not exist!

This apparent lack of helpful information decided us to include some in our pages, as you will see when you scan through.

This is not a technical site. We are providing useful tips and information here for members and anyone else who has time to look and desire to know. If you are not a "senior", that's ok with us. Most of us have grand-children or even great-grandchildren!

We are aware that some of the advice given is very elementary, eg. how to copy and paste.
It is placed on our pages because some of our members may be very new to this kind of thing and may be introduced to computers and web browsing for the very first time, on this site.
Do you remember when you first started with it? A bit mind boggling, was it? OK!

To those new members who are just dipping toes into this business, don't worry. We have never had anything blow up on us. Yet.

On each page in this site, depending on which browser you are using, you may find a banner, placed there by our host, Anzwers. If you click on it, you will be taken out of our pages and will need to use your Back button to come back. Use Anzwers by all means but do take a look at our web-search page first. Anzwers is listed there, along with many others.

Busnet is a member of ASCCA (Australian Seniors Computer Clubs Association).
