Busnet is a computer club for seniors and others, full designation; Busnet Computer Club Inc.

We are a group of (mainly) senior residents of the area in and around Busselton, in the south-west of Western Australia, who have a mutual interest in things to do with computers.

Most of us had little or no knowledge of using a computer until mid-1998, when a small group of us got together and decided to do something about that lack of knowledge.

We decided to form a club, encourage other senior citizens to join, and teach ourselves to use computers and understand Information Technology.
We formed the Busselton Seniors Computer Club, short name, Busnet. At the end of 2011, it was decided that being strictly a club for seniors was no longer satisfactory as there was a desire to help others to gain computer knowledge. Consequently, the restriction was removed and the shortened name was applied. Decisions regarding a new logo are yet to be made.

Soon after formation of the club, we decided to establish our own web-site, with the idea of encouraging other senior citizens to become interested.
This web-site is a direct result of that decision.
It is also our hope that members of similar clubs around the world might contact us as a result, leading to exchange of information and ideas.

Sorry, but a Javascript-enabled browser is required to email me.

During planning and preparation for the site, other sites pertaining to seniors computer clubs have been looked at and we have not found any that actually say much about using  a computer. We are not saying they do not exist!

This apparent lack of helpful information decided us to include some in our pages, as you will see when you scan through.

This is not a technical site. We are providing useful tips and information here for members and anyone else who has time to look and desire to know. If you are not a "senior", that's ok with us. Most of us have grand-children or even great-grandchildren!

We are aware that some of the advice given is very elementary, eg. how to copy and paste.
It is placed on our pages because some of our members may be very new to this kind of thing and may be introduced to computers and web browsing for the very first time, on this site.
Do you remember when you first started with it? A bit mind boggling, was it? OK!

To those new members who are just dipping toes into this business, don't worry. We have never had anything blow up on us. Yet.

On each page in this site, you will find a banner, usually at the top of the page, placed there by our host, Anzwers. If you click on it, you will be taken out of our pages and will need to use your Back button to come back (and sometimes the site you are taken to may not want to let you leave). These advertising links may refer to undesirable things, including adult dating, online gaming, etc. and we strongly advise that you do NOT click on them at all. Above all, do not believe messages such as "You are the winner", "You have won".These are just "come ons" to persuade you to click on the link. We have no control whatever over the placing of or content of these advertising links or over the content on the sites they take you to. They are the "price" we pay for our free site from Anzwers.

Busnet is a member of ASCCA (Australian Seniors Computer Clubs Association).
