ABOUT THE AUTHOR ...

MS. KIM BRYDGES

LANGUAGE ARTS TEACHER

I truly am proud to again be a "Brave" and be a part of the Boise High School tradition.  While finishing my undergraduate degree at Boise State University, I completed my student teaching here and had an excellent experience.  It has been a goal of mine to return to my beginnings, so to speak, and once again teach at BHS.

Upon graduating from BSU, I was hired in the Meridian School District at Centennial High School where I taught an assortment of English courses for two years.  In 2001, I then moved to Denver, Colorado area for a change of pace and managed to squeeze a Masters degree in Educational Administration into a busy schedule of teaching and coaching at Wheat Ridge High School.

While I enjoyed my time in Colorado, I missed Idaho and returned to Boise during the summer of 2003.  Mr. Anderson was kind enough to consider me for a teaching position and here I am.  The 2007-2008 school year marks my ninth in the profession, and I am proud to say that I continue to learn with my students on a daily basis!

In addition to teaching both Advanced Placement Language (Junior) and American Literature (Junior) English, I am the Head Varsity Girls Basketball coach, an active member of the Character Education Committee, and one of the faculty advisors for the Red Carpet Film Festival.
