OPERATION: SUPPORT (Special Underwire Protection Purportedly Outfits Rotten Teenagers)

mini-synopsis: while guarding an incapacitated Numbuh Five, Numbuhs One and Two discover the existence of a new teen weapon--the BRA!

summary:

Numbuh Five is home sick. which means that she's vulnerable to an enemy attack--someone might try to suck valuable information from her brain! so it's up to Numbuhs One and Two to protect her. they storm into her house and encounter her dad, who is strangely Cosby-like. they also encounter her teenaged sister, Cree, who teases them about the day's "big mission." Numbuh One refuses to converse with her, but Numbuh Two gets all dopey--clearly he has a crush on her. Dr. Lincoln talks about how fast Cree is growing, and mentions her "brand new training bra." Cree does a spit take and yells at her dad, leaving Numbuhs One and Two very confused as to what a bra is, and "what's she training for?" using the "super-cool naminator program," they discover that "BRA" is actually an acronym for "Battle Ready Armor"--clearly some kind of teen technology which will be used for kid oppression. they decide it must be found. they sneak into Cree's room, and after some hunting, find her bras. they put them on, (Nigel doing so rather more correctly than Hoagie) and try to activate the armor. while doing so, Cree enters her room, and after a moment of horrified shock, she proceeds to beat the stuffing out of Numbuh One. (Numbuh Two makes a quick retreat under her bed, and goes relatively unharmed.) Numbuh Five finally enters the scene, complaining how she can't sleep when there's all that racket, when Cree informs her "i caught your two little weirdo friends trying on my bras!" Numbuh One tries to explain to Abby that bras are actually Battle Ready Armor, but she (after some embarrassed attempts at explaining what a bra actually is) orders them back to the Treehouse so she can get some rest.

but lo! at night, a mysterious figure sucks information from Numbuh Five's brain as she sleeps! this person is in league with Father, and gives him the stolen brain juice. the mysterious figure's armor retracts, and it's Cree! bras are actually Battle Ready Armor after all! (we are all stunned.) but lo again! Abby knew this all along! she wasn't sick at all, it was all a set-up to lead the enemy to think they had gotten the information?! (and all our brains explode.)

bizarro's blathering: who can't help but love this episode? it's brilliantly written, featuring more great lines than any other show i can remember, and it introduces one of my favorite characters, Cree Lincoln. i do admit that the first time i saw this, the whole "bras are actually battle ready armor!" thing at the end threw me off. but since it began the awesome story arc of Cree as KND archenemy, i forgive it. (magnanimous, aren't i? :P)
