OPERATION: MINI-GOLF (Miniaturization Is Now Issue--Golfing Opposite Looney Fanatic) mini-synopsis: Numbuh Two is challenged to a mini-golf tournament by Rupert Puttkin, the local mini-golf obsessed crackpot. summary: when battling the inexplicably over-sized teen villain Big Brother, Numbuh Two inadvertently saves the day when he bounces around, pinball-style, and knocks Big Brother out. immediately afterwards, the KND meet Rupert Puttkin, a self-proclaimed "world champion" mini-golf player who is under the mistaken impression that calling it "miniature golf" makes it sound like a real sport. after spouting some self-important drivel, Rupert Puttkin challenges Numbuh Two to a match. (well, technically Numbuh Four volunteers Numbuh Two for the job.) Numbuh Two has never played mini-golf before, but of course he wins, and Rupert Puttkin is humiliated. but Rupert is quick to exact his revenge--he kidnaps Numbuh Two and takes him home to his garage (don't worry kids, this is a family show!) where he has assembled the "ultimate miniature golf course" by stealing the world's greatest monuments and shrinking them down with a miniaturization ray. Numbuh Two has also been shrunk down to the size of a golf ball, and Rupert, who now wears a funky costume and calls himself "The Great Puttinsky," challenges him to a rematch. (obviously sportsmanship isn't one of his better qualities.) in spite of Numbuh Two's handicap, he remains tied with Rupert until the last hole, "the Flaming Hole of Doom," which, if Rupert gets a hole-in-one, will shrink the whole world to the size of a golf ball, so Rupert can play mini-golf with the solar system. go fig. he uses Numbuh Two as his golf ball and aims for the Flaming Hole of Doom, but after a derisive comment from Numbuh Two ("i can't believe you're getting so worked up over a stupid game!") he misses, accidentally "biggifies" himself and tramples his prized golf course with all the world's monuments. and Numbuh Two is still the size of a golf ball. chalk one up for loose ends! 2x4 technology of the day: the DART (Dairy Accelerated Rocket Thingy) quotable quotes: "if Puttkin can sink this hole, he'll win and restore proper order to the miniature golf universe! if he misses, every ounce of dignity will be stripped from him and he'll live the rest of his miserable life in disgrace. let's watch!" --random newscaster bizarro's blathering: Numbuh Two gets a moment in the spotlight, and shows that not only can he hold his own and save the day by himself, but he bounces! |
