OPERATION: CANNON (Cannon And Naptime Not Occuring Normally) mini-synopsis: when Numbuh One goes on forced vacation, Numbuh Four takes over, with plans of building a clam cannon. summary: Numbuh One informs the team that he is on his way to a "top secret mission" to a "massive adult torture facility." it turns out that he is on his way to "Hap-Happy Land," (an amusement park-type place) with his family. the rest of the KND take this opportunity to relax, but not for long, as they are soon attacked, one after the other, by Count Spankulot, the Proper Patrol, and the Delightful Children From Down the Lane. the KND are saved by the DCFDTL's early curfew, but the DCFDTL promise to return the next day. Numbuh Four decides to get proactive, and, after a "joke suggestion" by Numbuh Five, concludes the best way to optimize defenses is to build a clam cannon. he declares himself "temporary Numbuh One's not here leader" and starts ordering the rest of the KND around. the resist at first, but eventually give in and begin building the clam cannon, while Numbuh Four goes power mad, eventually sporting a bald cap and shades, and declares himself "permanent team leader--forever!" this is when the DCFDTL make their reappearance, and Numbuhs Three through Five are too exhausted to retaliate, and are subdued easily. but the DCFDTL make the unfortunate mistake of trying to use the newly (and shoddily) built clam cannon against the KND which of course backfires, and the DCFDTL get blasted away instead. quotable quotes: "those who do not pay their library fines shall incur the stingy wrath of Count Spankulot!" --Count Spankulot "i don't believe this! Numbuh One leaves for two minutes and everyone and their gramma attacks us!" --Numbuh Four bizarro's blatherings: as mentioned in the summary for I-SCREAM, according to cartoon network's site, this was supposed to be the third episode of KND, and this episode makes me believe it. it seemed strange to me that the first episode would feature the leader of the team leaving and another (less competent) member trying to take over, when we barely know who's who. but when i hear that this was supposed to be the third episode, it makes a lot more sense. another point of confusion here--why didn't Numbuh Five take over when Numbuh One left? apparently, if Numbuh Four shouts loud and long enough, the other members of the team will listen to him! |
