If I had to pick my three favourite fics from any fandom, this one would be on the list. I'm not sure it wouldn't be at the top. It's very, very long: set aside days, or even weeks, to read it, especially The Rose and the Yew Tree, which I believe is far and away the best of the series. I forbid you to miss this series if you haven't read it yet!

Wisdom and Beauty by Macedon (Voyager, OMC/OFC, rape, unrated)
The rape is described bluntly but not glorified. The story of the first Vulcan/Human pair bonded 'normally'--at age seven. Macedon has such a talent for making Vulcans and Vulcan culture come alive in a way that Star Trek, and most writers who use Vulcan characters, never dream of.

Jeu-parti: Orfeo, Eye of the Storm and Anslem by Macedon (DS9, Jake/OMC, R)
Macedon takes the Star Trek universe and makes it real; no need to suspend your disbelief because his characters are living, breathing, thinking, feeling people. And he creates some of the best original characters I've ever read before; quite often I find myself forgetting that his world isn't canon.

Sweet Dreams by Maisie (Voyager, C/P, NC-17)
A series of 8 stories. It's the lighter, happier side of Chakotay and Paris. Fun and entertaining, and even the angsty moments aren't too heavy.

In His Mind's Eye by Maisie (Voyager, R)
Yes, it's Poor Abused Tom, but done well. One of the first fanfics I ever read on the web, back before I started reading slash. In fact, this may have been my slash gateway fic, though I actually don't remember for sure. Anyway, this story is a classic and is still a favourite of mine.

Set after '30 Days' and after Tom gets his rank back. Tom and Janeway are stuck in a cave and Kathryn learns a little something about claustrophobia.

The Louder the Song by Varoneeka (TNG, P/Q, NC-17)
Picard's about to die when Q shows up to offer him an amoral bargain. Is Q a creep, or just desperate? I kind of have a weakness for P/Q; don't ask me why. Maybe because I like the thought of Q pining away and Picard having all the power...nah, couldn't be.
