VALL is a group of people united around their publicly stated goal of protecting children by placing lemon fiction (sexually explicity fiction) and NC-17 fiction out of their reach. Their true goal is eradicating any notion of parental responsibility and any view that differs from theirs. (This is what happens when a friend asks an English major for an opinion of a group. It takes us at least a page just to warm up!)
VALL's Misogyny and Cruelty
This essay comes on the heels of a cruel VALL response to BurnedVamp, an author clearly concerned by VALL objectives. After I'd written this, I posted it on a mailing list and was surprised (yes, quite a coincidence, but I swear to God I didn't know) that BV was on that ML. Her added input comes near the end of the essay, along with the information that when VALL posted her email "unedited," they did indeed edit her letter and then proceed to mock her. A few days after posting this, they ensured that my previous site was deleted, closed their message board so no one could see the cited comments, and edited their public reply to her letter so they showed little to no fault.
At the behest of a disenfranchised vall member, I post what will most likely be my final update on VALL, including a synopsis of my brief membership (!), and their recent implosion as the very founders of the group take off like rats off a floundering ship. And last but not least, a look inside the true intolerance, homophobia and mutual ego-rubbing that characterizes their mindset, made possible by said disenfranchised member.
