Wildflowers of the Goldfields

Kalgoorlie and The Goldfields: The Goldfields region is aptly named, born out of the gold rush which hit the region around a century ago where men came to make their fortune. Kalgoorlie in particular was at the centre of this gold fever. Many left empty handed, having endured the tough conditions and spent their money on equipment. This influence can still be felt today in the region, particularly Kalgoorlie where mining, although on a much larger scale still takes place today.

Some of the attractions in the region include historic towns and buildings, as well as old mine shafts which were born out of the goldrush era. At certain times of the year, the region also displays some stunning Western Australian wildflowers.
