About Me

I wasn't on planning on making this page but knowing about BishieOtaku would help, right?

General/Languages: I am a girl. That is very important to know, especially on the bishie pages. I'm still a high schooler (turning into a Junior). The languages I know are (in order of preference) English, Korean, Spanish, and Japanese.

Anime Fandom History: I've always loved anime. I can't remember the first time I started watching Sailor Moon; my before-elementary-school days are very blurry. I became a major dubbed anime fan in 4th grade. I became a manga fanatic in 7th grade. I became a fansub downloader in the summer of 9th grade. I grew into a bigger fansub and scanlation downloader through the years. I became a sub-only anime fan in this development.

Beliefs on Anime:

Wait a Few Hours
If I am going review an anime, I've got to do it outside of the anime. Honestly, I can enjoy all anime while I'm watching it but an anime's true quality is in its after-effects. Is it still fresh in my mind after a month? Does my heart still flutter thinking about it? Did I kind of forget it exists? Anybody can enjoy an anime in the circumstances but the outcome is what counts. For (an extreme) example, drinking alcohol is fun in the circumstances but the outcome does not have the same joy. Now, I'm not saying anime is like alcohol but a bird eye's view is more accurate than the eye level.

Unoriginals
Some people find that some animes are "rip-offs" of another anime, deeming it unoriginal. I, personally, do not have anything against unoriginal animes. I do detest overly-unoriginal (AKA overrated) anime. Anyway, I see nothing wrong with using another anime as a model. For example, mechanical pencils modeled the wood pencils. Some prefer mechanical; some prefer wood; some like both - it does not matter which came first; it depends on its quality and personal preferences.

Quality AND Quantity Matters
I do not understand why people enjoy watching extremely lengthy animes... Most long animes are dragged out, and it gets frustrating when it feels like it's never going to end. "Too much of a good thing is bad" - ever heard that quote? Well, it applies to anime as well. I've noticed the most popular animes are either 1/2 season, 1 season, or 2 seasons long; very few are over 52 episodes. I know little kids like never-ending TV shows but the ending is what contributes to an anime's quality.

Irrelevance
I prefer making reviews based on my personal opinions and memories from watching it. I think music, video quality, art design, and seiyuu are irrelevant in deciding the quality of an anime. I admit they contribute - they contribute a lot! - in deciding the quality but those listed items should not be the main focus. "It's the thought that counts."

Maturity
I'm trying not to sound cocky but I consider myself mature - not perfectly adult-like because I still have my child-like aspects. I know I'm a high schooler but those of you who do not know me really well can believe whatever you want. I don't joke around when it comes to drugs, alcohol (I was being serious in the example in "Wait a Few Hours"), nudity, profanity, and 6. Yes, this is going to be the only time I'm going to type this word, but I'm not mature in this area and I prefer typing "6" over "sex" (it's just 1 letter different from "six"). I hope you respect my moral values and I will respect yours, even if we disagree on some issues. Thank you.
