This is my own way. I draw my anime this way, as I think it's easier to draw stuff offhand than to make lots of shapes. I f you don't like this way or can't get the hang of it(like me and the 'shapes' method) then go ahead and try another tutorial-there are loads of good ones that might help.

We'll start with the head.

1)The shape of the head is roughly like this:

2)Add facial features.The eyes should be like this:(draw two curved lines for each eye)

3)Add the shape of the eyeballs like this:(draw ovals in the 'eye sockets')

4)Add the pupils. They will look like this:(draw a small oval inside your eye)
5)Colour your eye. I've used black out of habit.(the little white areas are light gleams, and would change with the direction of the light)

6)Start the other features. The nose on the front view (just a few curved lines) and the ear on the side.

7)The hair! Don't forget! The shapes on my example hair are a little bad, but it's the basic idea. The shapes are clumps and strands of hair. Experiment with different styles or go to the next page for ideas. Remember to draw the headshape first otherwise the hair may not actually cover the 'head' and will look unreal.

8)Add colour. Possibly self-explanatory. You are supposed to colour the skin, but every time I tried to Fill the skin in Photoshop it went over the eyes too.

Note:Not all hairstyles cover the ears!

9)Clean up lines, add shadow and detail. I forgot to put the neck on the front view so I'll do it here. I may do a tutorial on shading.
