It was a day or two since Samael left the ruins of the Marduk dynasty. The place gave him so many memories of sorrow and shame, reminding him of his own downfall. Only if he met his Emperor in his new life and form, he would apologise for all the trouble, but that was all in the past. He would have probably forgotten about it in his new life anyways.
"Where could I have dropped it." Samael wonders to himself as he searches the lands for his beloved and his talisman. Summer was over and Autumn has come, all of the trees and natural land was like a mixture of copper and gold, with a little fire shades in between. But now the trees started to clear, making ways for a city environment. Samael then decided to land, investigating the place. "Jierra, where can you be?"
As he wanders the deathly quiet streets, something started to illuminate right near him. He started to follow the light, coming upon to what appears to be slums. The buildings were rickety, rusty, and dirty, compaired the the splendor of the urban and suburban areas. Samael looked around at some of the poor people and wondered how could anyone live in this mess. But the shining gotten stronger, when an old man started to carry around what looked like to be a slab of "Mother of Pearl". Samael did not know what to think of this.
"Oh, hi young man." The elder said to the Akuma, holding up the very talisman itself. "Would you like to have this pretty 'Mother of Pearl' Statue? I find no use for it so......"
"Okay, very well." Samael replies as the elderly man gave the Akuma the talisman. "Thank you very much."
But as Samael left the city itself, he had the feeling he was being watched. He tried to fly away as fast as he could from the whole area, but then, a strong, electrical force knocks Samael down to the ground once again. What was the meaning of this? Was someone possibly stalking him?
"Greetings....." a voice rang out. As he opened his eyes, Samael saw Maniyu, his foe, face to face. Out the corners of his eyes, Samael saw warriors on his side, and warriors on Maniyu's side as well. Above him, was Verensha, the goddess of fate. Below her platform, was Jierra, tied up and gaged.
"Now, it is time......" Verensha bellowed, hitting her gongs. When the gongs rang, the battle ensured. First, came out Maniyu's warriors, licking their lips in a bloodthirsty sort of fashion. Samael's warriors were much more calmer and collective, researching the tactics to use against Maniyu's warriors. Both were locked in mortal combat, slashing away. Samael in all of his fiery rage, flew towards his for, Maniyu, who is also feeling great rage as well. Flame, smoke, bullets and slashing of blades filled the land and air. The screaming filled the air, piercing the ears and a combination of red and black blood stained everyone and everything.
"Die! Go back to where you've came from!" Many voices rang out like a macabre, twisted choir. Many people on both sides were both gaining and losing people, some others were struggling over the dead bodies of both slain comrades and enemies. As the fighting continues on, Verensha started to feel her aerial throne getting hit hard.
"Damn, what now?" she thought to herself as her throne started to shake violently from the battle. All of the sudden, the battle raged at its apex, throwing the goddess herself off the throne, as well as Jierra. The battle started to get worse. Now there were only a few warriors left on both sides, and both Samael and Maniyu were war-torn and exhausted. Before things gotten worse, Verensha had to make up her mind before all was lost.
"STOP!" Varensha cried out, her clothing torn and her pure skin stained wit hdirt and blood of others. "STOP THIS MADNESS! I HAVE MADE UP MY MIND!"
"And......." Maniyu snarled, feeling quite impatient.
".......And decided that......." Verensha panted. ".....you both shall struggle for her until a cretain twist of fate happens."
Samael was shocked at the outcome. "WHAT?"
"Pah! I shall own anyone I want to." Maniyu sneers, de-materializing. "Even if I have to cause armageddon to do so, like I did for many millenia. "
As Maniyu dematerialized, thinking of his own cruel plans, Verensha beckons Samael to come closer, obviously wanting to tell him something between her and the Akuma. "Samael......please....."
"Yes?" Samael asks in anticipation, eyeing Jierra.
"Please. I have faith in you. I know you can one day have the power to cause Maniyu's downfall. Do it for every living world, please."
Samael bows to the war-torn goddess in great honour. "I will. My ex-master has caused enough pain and tears."
"Thank you." Varensha panted before she passed out in exhaustion, holding onto the gauntlet of a dead warrior. As Samael frees Jierra, the two flew off together. It felt like a long time since Samael saw his beloved.
"Just wondering dear Samael...." Jierra said, smiling. In her hand, was a black abalone carving of a woman's loving face. "Shall we?"
"Yes." But as Samael tried to reach into his belongings he has with him, his mother of pearl carving seemed to have been gone, again. "Damn it, Maniyu! Why must you do this to me?"
"Easy Samael." Jierra said softly. "One day, you may have it with you and re-unite them one day."
"To me, I hope that day will come soon!" Samael thought to himself, feeling unwary. He had to keep a good watch out, ever since he was involved in a great battle that almost costed him his life.
